OverviewASSOCIATE DIRECTOR - TRANSPORT PLANNING, MANCHESTERto £70k plus generous benefitsAn opportunity has arisen to join a leading multidisciplinary consultancy as an Associate Director for the Manchester transport planning team. You will join a vibrant team delivering a variety of projects for clients in the private and public sectors.ResponsibilitiesDemonstrate business development skills within the region and manage the team by developing client contacts to build a solid workload that supports a small team within the existing department.Provide project management and technical support, manage staff, and mentor/develop junior team members.Take individual responsibility for projects, manage them, and act as the client’s main point of contact.Instruct, supervise, and mentor junior staff and support their professional development.Qualifications and SkillsProgressive and versatile individual with an established background in transport planning; proven project management and business development capabilities (including proposal writing).Knowledge of the UK transport planning industry and the UK planning system.Extensive experience in preparing transport assessments, travel plans, transport chapters for environmental statements, etc.Self-motivation and the ability to undertake specific tasks with minimum supervision; ability to manage your own time to meet project deadlines.Excellent presentation skills and spreadsheet knowledge.Experience delivering technically challenging projects and liaising/negotiating with public and private sector clients.Understanding of current design guides such as Manual for Streets and DMRB; knowledge of the application of junction modelling software.Graduate in a relevant subject with a masters being a bonus; over six years of relevant experience.Benefits and OpportunitiesOur client offers a very generous and extensive benefits package together with outstanding career prospects to quickly take on a Director’s role.
