OverviewASSOCIATE DIRECTOR - TRANSPORT PLANNING MANCHESTER to £70k plus generous benefits. An opportunity has arisen to join this leading multidisciplinary consultancy who are seeking an Associate Director for their Manchester transport planning team. You will be welcomed into a vibrant team, delivering a variety of interesting projects for clients in the private and public sectors. Key to your role will be the ability to demonstrate business development skills within the region as well as the ability to manage the team by ensuring they are kept busy on developed client contacts. There will be an expectation of building a solid workload to support the development of a small team that will support and enhance the existing team.Additionally involved in providing project management and technical support, managing staff and providing support with the mentoring and development of junior team members. It is expected that you will take individual responsibility for projects, manage them and be the client\'s main point of contact. You will instruct, supervise and mentor junior staff, as well as support their professional development. You will need to demonstrate relevant technical and market knowledge and experience of working on projects for the private and public sectors across the region. For your part you will be progressive and versatile, with an established background in transport planning.ResponsibilitiesProvide project management and technical support on transport planning projects within the Manchester region.Instruct, supervise and mentor junior staff and support their professional development.Take individual responsibility for projects, manage them, and act as the main client contact.Demonstrate business development skills within the region and build a solid workload to support a growing team.Coordinate with clients in both the private and public sectors and manage client relationships.Support and lead the delivery of projects while ensuring team remains busy on developed client contacts.QualificationsProven project management and business development capabilities (including proposal writing).Knowledge of the UK transport planning industry and the UK planning system.Extensive experience in preparing transport assessments, travel plans, transport chapters for environmental statements, etc.Self-motivation and ability to undertake specific tasks with minimum supervision.Ability to manage your own time to meet project deadlines.Excellent presentation skills and spreadsheet knowledge.Experience of delivering technically challenging projects.Experience of liaising / negotiating with public and private sector clients.Understanding of current design guides such as Manual for Streets and DMRB.Knowledge of the application of junction modelling software.You will be a graduate in a relevant subject with a masters being a bonus and possess over six years relevant experience.Benefits and OpportunityOur client is able to reward with a very generous and extensive benefits package together with truly outstanding career prospects to quickly take on a Director\'s role.
