Overview

As Bid Director, you’ll hold end‑to‑end accountability for the successful submission of winning tenders, liaising with colleagues across the business to develop and produce win themes, top‑scoring content, and manage the bid process to minimise impact on our business. Most of our clients are in the UK public sector, with stringent compliance requirements and a highly competitive market where differentiation comes with the slimmest of margins.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and manage all aspects of bids from qualification to final submission, delivering high‑quality proposals on time and to winning standards.
  • Support the business development function through proposals and shaping of solutions/approaches.
  • Organise the agreement of competitively positioned commercials, the technical solution and the corresponding solution delivery model.
  • Oversee our commercial and pricing approach into all of our bids and take responsibility for bid pricing schedules in accordance with agreed commercial figures.
  • Write, edit and review bid responses or sections of bid responses, drawing on contributions as well as collateral.
  • Ensure our brand values and high standards are embedded across all bid activity, including visual collateral that simplifies our win theme/approach to our clients.
  • Continually seek innovative ways to improve bid team productivity, enhancement of collateral and procurement success rates, facilitate kick‑off, story‑boarding and win‑theme sessions and provide independent review and challenge of win themes, proposals and other bid materials.
  • Understand how to run internal pitch team briefs and debriefs and conduct retros with the bidding team.
  • Bring the best out of TPXimpact by connecting teams to deliver high quality, winning bids.
  • Work closely and collaboratively with Marketing, Business Enablement and client‑facing teams in Growth and Delivery to form a seamless value chain for our clients.
  • Demonstrate a track record of winning.

Qualifications

  • Senior bid professional with recent experience developing top‑quality approaches to digital transformation.
  • Deep understanding of the UK public sector procurement and buying landscape.
  • Experience in a relevant commercial environment with demonstrable success in a team‑leading role (or consulting equivalent).
  • Broad IT experience and awareness of digital transformation and wider market trends.
  • Highly capable of multitasking and prioritising tasks with the ability to work under pressure and deliver to regular tight deadlines.
  • Excellent organisational and analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Adaptability in a fast‑paced and dynamic consultancy environment.
  • Strong leadership skills, with an emphasis on collaboration and team‑building.
