Job Description

The Director of Delivery will provide project delivery expertise across International Operations and Technology, from Media Systems to IT & Workplace infrastructure. This role will work across multiple O&T teams, the international TV businesses who interact with our core business systems and many other business units. The role will lead a small direct team and provide project delivery for strategic projects and ad hoc business driven service launches. The focus will be supporting the regional operations leads and their customers and interaction with key partners such as our US Technical Operations colleagues in Operations, Product & Engineering.
As new systems, services and processes are created and evolve, this role will provide direction, delivery and governance on best practices associated with the transition of services and systems into the operational arena.

This includes:

•Driving cross functional International Media Operations (IMO) initiatives supporting productivity and effectiveness, maintaining the overall project roadmap & priorities.
•Supporting operational leads and the business solutions management teams to develop solutions proposals for customer focused improvement opportunities that are incorporated into the overall roadmaps.
•Ensuring seamless and efficient transition of projects from development to operation.
•Provide project management oversight, governance & reporting across IMO.
•Continuously improve productivity and effectiveness of the teams and systems used to support the team.
•Supporting engagement leads to ensure effective initiation, delivery, and benefits realisation of project deliverables.

Key Responsibilities:


•Be a member of the IMO Leadership team, providing leadership and guidance to the Delivery team. Working with the other members of the leadership team to set high standards of quality, reliability, and efficiency for the department.
•Ownership of the project management methodology and tool set being used by the project, programme, and virtual project teams. Ensuing the teams maintain a balanced skill set in agile project delivery methodologies, change management, and programme management.
•Provide leadership of and ownership for the International Delivery roadmap ensuring that the team can deliver their committed portfolio of projects.
•Support the development of pre project proposals offering guidance on duration, effort and deliverables, providing signoff on them before submission to business stakeholders.
•Act as stakeholder for many Internal or cross divisional strategic projects that need direction and guidance.
•Ensure clean transition of projects led by the Delivery team into live operational environment across multiple functional teams which are based globally.
•Ensure that the delivery team meet their KPI’s, key milestones, and project deadlines providing routine reporting on performance to executive leadership.
•Develop and manage credible relationships and communication with senior stakeholders and their teams in central and global operations to ensure that business change can effectively be managed during the delivery lifecycle of a project.
•Act as the senior stakeholder for project operational readiness and deliverables, ensuring the Product & Delivery teams alongside the Engineering teams provide seamless service transition and management of change into live environments and operational teams.
•Guide the delivery and integration of new services and systems to ensure delivery and realisation of productivity benefits.

Qualifications

Education and Qualifications


•Bachelor’s degree in business, Technology or related fields
•Professional project management qualification ( Prince2, APMP)

•Consultative-style – able to provide excellent client-service while also able to diplomatically push back with alternate approaches or solutions.
•Proven ability to interact effectively with all levels of management.
•Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills.
•Proactive, well organized, and results-oriented, with the ability to lead and participate in multiple projects simultaneously.
•Hands-on and tactical with the ability to implement and execute.

•Can inspire others through leading by example. Having the experience and knowledge to guide a project management team and help them to identify gaps, potential challenges, and risks ahead of time.
•Being able to balance a demanding workload as the role will be managing a portfolio of 30+ projects at any one time.
•Being a team player is critical as the role will need to work hand in hand with the other leaders in Product and Delivery and the wider International Tech Ops organisation.
•A thought leader who can continuously adapt their department to stay relevant in an ever-changing industry and organisation.
