OverviewDirector, Process and Controls, Risk Consulting role within EY’s Risk Consulting Practice. EY aims to empower organisations to navigate opportunities and transformations effectively, engaging with senior client personnel to deliver high-quality outcomes.ResponsibilitiesBusiness Development: Established networks across key sectors to identify, pursue, and convert opportunities, including proposal development, contributing to additional sales, and producing thought leadership.Engagement Delivery: Lead and own the delivery of Risk Consulting engagements (e.g., risk management, internal audit, UK Corporate Reform, SOX 404, controls transformation), ensuring projects are effective, exceeding client expectations, and identifying sell-on work.Agility: Self-starting with the ability to balance sales activity and engagement management.Trusted Advisor: Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, guiding on complex regulations (e.g., UK Corporate Reform, US SOX, Global Internal Audit Standards) and how these impact internal controls and reporting obligations.Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and delivering tailored solutions.Process & Controls Leadership: Lead across risk and controls solutions, develop and nurture talent, and foster a positive team culture.Solution Development: Develop new and existing risk and control solutions, governance policies, and related services.Quality and Risk Management: Demonstrate a track record of complying with quality and risk management principles.Business Acumen: Understand the broader business context, including financial, operational, compliance and strategic considerations.Learning and Development: Promote continuous learning and professional development for oneself and the team.Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with risk, IT, compliance, finance, and security teams to drive integrated risk management solutions.Team Mentorship: Mentor and develop risk professionals and contribute to a positive team environment.Industry Knowledge: Stay informed about regulatory changes, technology growth and risk best practices.Performance Excellence: Monitor engagement success metrics and KPIs and address deviations to deliver high-quality outcomes.Communication: Communicate effectively, adapting style to deliver messages while maintaining relationships.Values: Promote Diversity, Equity and Inclusiveness.Qualifications / Skills and ExperienceIndustry Expertise: Expertise in risk, processes and controls with agility across solutions and sectors.Business Development: Proven success in leveraging networks to identify and convert opportunities, including proposal development and thought leadership.Relationships: Experience building relationships with C-suite executives and discussing complex risk solutions confidently.Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of UK Corporate Reform and US SOX compliance, guiding clients on regulatory impacts.Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication for executive reporting and stakeholder engagement.Leadership: Ability to inspire, nurture and motivate teams and foster collaboration and growth.Ethical Standards: Strong ethics and integrity, ensuring regulatory compliance and promoting ethical practices.Proactive Learning: Self-starter with commitment to continuous learning and growth.Adaptability: Ability to navigate changing regulatory environments and emerging risks.Audit & Accounting Experience: Experience bringing external audit and financial accounting perspective to engagements with strong control frameworks.Systems Expertise: Experience with core systems (e.g., SAP and Oracle) to identify control weaknesses and improvements.Transformation and Digital Solutions: Experience in driving transformation and deploying digital solutions.What we look forWe are looking for entrepreneurial people who thrive in a global team, are market-oriented, and demonstrate drive, commitment to solutions, and resilience.
