Job Description

Robert Half has partnered with an established e-commerce business, looking for a hands-on HR Director to oversee day-to-day HR operations. This is an operational role, ideal for someone who enjoys being in the thick of HR delivery.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day running of the HR function, ensuring smooth delivery of core HR services across the business
  • Handle complex and sensitive employee relations (ER) issues including investigations, disciplinaries, grievances, and performance management
  • Provide operational HR support and guidance to managers across the UK and APAC teams
  • Maintain and improve HR policies, procedures and compliance with UK employment law
  • Oversee HR administration, contracts, onboarding/offboarding, and data management
  • Support hiring processes in partnership with internal or external recruiters


About You

  • Fluent in Mandarin and English – both written and spoken at a professional level (required)
  • Strong HR generalist background with significant experience in employee relations
  • Resilient, adaptable, and comfortable working independently or as the sole HR lead
  • Confident dealing with managers and employees at all levels across different functions
  • Ideally CIPD Level 5 (or equivalent HR qualification), but practical experience is most important
  • Excellent knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
