Job Description

People Director – Fast-growth, Multi-site, B2C Brand. London.

One of the UK’s fastest-growing consumer brands is hiring a People Director to help scale the business from 2,000 to 7,500 employees as part of an ambitious 4-year growth plan – including expansion into the US from 2026.

This isn’t about fixing something broken. The People function is already strong. Your mandate is to take each vertical from good to great: supporting talented leaders, introducing efficiency gains, driving automation, and keeping employee experience and career development at the heart of everything.

The set-up today:

  • Talent Acquisition – High-performing team delivering c.200 offers/month. Strong TA Manager in place; your role is to support their development and introduce smart new tech/process improvements.
  • People Operations – Excellent Head of People Ops. Well-run function. Needs leadership, not repair.
  • Resourcing – Offshore team managing rostering & volume hiring. Rostering is the current pinch-point; any experience optimising workforce planning (esp. seasonal peaks) will be invaluable.
  • People Experience – Solid foundations, with leadership coaching planned later this year.
  • Talent Development (Key focus) – This is where you’ll make the biggest impact. Building best-in-class career pathways, learning opportunities, and succession planning so the business becomes an employer of choice in its sector.

As an FYI from a technology perspective....

They are a forward-thinking, tech-savvy People team using HiBob (HRIS), Zinc (verification), Pinpoint (ATS), and soon Atenzi (gamified LMS – ideal for their largely GenZ workforce).

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience scaling multi-site organisations at pace (sector flexible: retail, healthcare, education, hospitality, etc.). This prior experience is essential.
  • Strong across all HR disciplines, with depth in L&D and Talent Development – this is where you’ll really shine.
  • Calm, confident, and engaging – able to thrive in a fast-paced, agile, non-hierarchical culture.
  • Vibrant, energetic, ambitious – with credibility at senior stakeholder level.

The future:

Once proven, there is a definite career path to UK Chief People Officer. At this time, this role would see you leading a 150-site business employing some 7500 employees across the UK.
