Overview

Turner & Townsend is inviting applications for the Project Director – Infrastructure Project Management role. The position is based in London with hybrid working patterns dependent on client requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Significant experience managing multiple disciplines / teams / advisors / clients on high value / complex / politically challenging infrastructure projects/programmes across the lifecycle, ideally across sectors and clients. Proven and demonstrable success, and able to challenge / set strategy.
  • Exceptional leadership skills, capable of setting high standards and managing performance against these, utilising people and resources efficiently to meet and exceed stakeholder expectations. Demonstrable success in ambiguous and challenging environments.
  • Leads, sets commission strategies, and is accountable for the health, safety, and wellbeing of those within your sphere of responsibility. Has a practical understanding of CDM and is able to apply this appropriately across teams. Can and has acted as duty holder.
  • Shape the future vision and direction of the business and commissions, driving innovation and sustainability in parallel. Demonstrate your intimate understanding of stakeholder and business needs through early identification of future needs and challenges and set in motion strategies to address these.
  • You continuously improve and transform our offering, pushing your comfort zone and encouraging your leaders to do the same. You take calculated risks to achieve this.
  • Promoter of inclusive teamwork, building and fostering trust with empathy, diving a ‘one business’ collaboration mindset within T&T, across clients and extended across industry.

Qualifications

Beneficial Experience:

  • Experience of complex and multiple forms of procurement and managing NEC / other form contracts.
  • Experience of managing contractors, consultants and other advisors on infrastructure projects and programmes in differing environments, ideally multiple sectors.
  • Experience of highly regulated environments.
  • Experience of consultancy and/or client-side project management.
  • Familiarity with public sector organisations, non-departmental or arm’s length bodies relevant to infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with sustainability and application to projects / programmes.

Preferable Qualifications:

  • Degree level qualification in a management, construction or infrastructure related subject, or equivalent experience.
  • Professional affiliation with the APM, ICE, or an equivalent professional institution.
  • Project management certification (e.g. APM / PRINCE2 / MSP / MoP / ChPP).
  • NEC Accreditations or qualifications.
  • CSCS / equivalent.
  • Sustainability (e.g. Carbon Literacy).
  • Safety qualifications / accreditations.
  • Soft skills / leadership certification.
