Overview

The role: Technical Director HV Plant/Primary Design (Substations). The position can be based anywhere in the UK. This role leads the HV Substation design team, overseeing FEED and detailed design for refurbishment, extensions, and new-build projects within the Transmission and Distribution sector.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead the HV team for electrical substation design projects.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines and lead FEED design and detailed design activities.
  • Deliver projects at varying scales for a range of T&D clients in the UK.
  • Proactively build knowledge of the electricity transmission and distribution industry and coach the wider T&D team.
  • Contribute to innovative solutions and promote best practices to drive client success.
  • Develop innovative and practical solutions to a range of problems and understand how issues fit into larger solutions.
  • Share knowledge, promote ideas, and value every team member’s contribution.
  • Hold a relevant degree in electrical engineering; ideally Chartered Engineer (IET) with experience as a Contractor Design Approval Engineer (CDAE) per TP137 or equivalent; TP141 qualification is an advantage.
