As part of their continued growth and development they are now looking for an outstanding Venue Director to lead a prestigious, high-profile contract. This is a strategic, commercial, and operational leadership role, accountable for managing the full site-based operation and for driving financial and experiential success across match days, major events, and a growing conference & events (C&E) business. This role is responsible for building strong and trusted relationships with the venue owner, leading operational excellence, and driving revenue growth through both match day operations and non-match day commercial activities. You will develop and deliver innovative strategies, manage senior teams, and ensure that client standards are not just met but consistently exceeded. As Venue Director, you will be expected to:
Take overall accountability for site-wide operations, guest satisfaction, and client relationships. Drive strategic planning for all business units – match day, C&E, retail, and hospitality ensuring delivery against KPIs and commercial targets. Lead, inspire, and develop Heads of Department and their teams to deliver outstanding results, service quality, and team engagement. Manage all business-to-business commercial income, developing innovative revenue streams and a robust C&E sales pipeline. Oversee full financial accountability, including budgeting, forecasting, P&L ownership, and cost control. Develop compelling, profitable sales proposals and bids, ensuring innovation, financial viability, and market alignment. Take full ownership of the conference & events strategy, identifying future market opportunities and maximising the use of venue space. Proactively engage with external clients to secure large-volume corporate bookings and major event contracts. Manage and coordinate with third-party stakeholders across the venue to ensure alignment with brand values and service expectations.
We’re looking to identify an accomplished leader with a strong commercial mindset and a passion for hospitality at the highest level. As part of this you will have:
Senior operational leadership experience within a venue or multi-site contract. A track record in contract management, team leadership, and operational excellence. Outstanding client relationship and stakeholder engagement skills. Proven ability to lead large, cross-functional teams, especially in high-pressure event environments. Commercial acumen, with a history of delivering strong financial performance and business growth. Experience in sales strategy, including pipeline development, bid management, and revenue delivery. Full P&L accountability experience and the mindset to drive profit. Experience in managing projects to deadline and budget.
