OverviewAssociate / Associate Director - Structures - Energy role at WSP. The role is based in either our Newcastle or Teesside office.What you will doYou will join the expanding Building Structures team as an Associate or Associate Director, accountable for project management, technical leadership and delivery of schemes from inception through to handover to the client. You will:Develop innovative and sustainable designs from concept for projects ranging from transportation hubs and tall towers to healthcare, defence and education schemes, with national and local architects.Take a key leadership role managing multi-disciplinary design projects from concept through detailed design, coordinating with Architects, Engineers and specialist consultants.Contribute to the ongoing success and help build the delivery of a growing order book.Your team You’ll join a team of diverse and talented individuals who work together to:Take a strategic lead on large multi-disciplinary projects and provide bespoke structural solutions to niche and architectural-led concept designs.Form strong working relationships with other WSP disciplines, external design consultants, stakeholders and clients.Provide sustainable development solutions from site selection through detailed design and construction.Provide specialist advice and design solutions on sustainable design, net zero carbon, MMC & DfMA.Reporting to a senior member of the team, you will work on high-profile major multi-disciplinary development projects across sectors including Transportation, High-rise, Commercial & Mixed-use, Retail, Education and Healthcare, with recent wins in the Defence sector. We have a broad client base spanning Private and Public sectors at regional and national levels.What we will be looking for you to demonstrateA proven track record of successful design delivery, ideally in major projects and other challenging multi-discipline building projects, particularly concept design and project inception stages.Project management and technical delivery leadership experience on medium to large schemes.Excellent interpersonal skills with potential for leadership and effective communication with project team members, stakeholders and clients.
